JAVID ASHARAF - SOLICITOR, HEAD OF DEPARTMENT
Javid Asharaf
After studying law at the University of Hull and then completing his post-graduate training, Javid qualified as a solicitor in 1994. He started his legal career in the Midlands before moving south to Devon. He joined Beers LLP in 1997 and was made a Partner in 2000.
Javid heads up the Litigation team and specialises in personal injury, advising on all types of personal injury claims, most of which are pursued on a "no win, no fee" basis.
Out of the office, Javid enjoys spending time with his family of four daughters.
Javid speaks Punjabi and Urdu.
PETER TASSART - FILEX
Peter Tassart
Originally from the South East, Peter qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1998 and is accredited by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) as a Senior Litigator. Peter has previously set up both a personal injury department and costs recovery department for Nash & Co.
With considerable experience in civil and commercial litigation, Peter specialises in personal injury compensation claims and is passionate about ensuring that the client recovers full and fair compensation in circumstances which are frequently life changing to a greater or lesser degree.
VICTORIA SLAVIN - SOLICITOR
Victoria Slavin
Originally from New Zealand, Victoria grew up in Plymouth in the 1980's. After studying at the University of Wales Aberystwyth, she completed her legal training at the College of Law Chester. After a training contract in Plymouth, Victoria qualified in 2004. She joined Beers LLP in 2007 and specialises in personal injury claims.
Victoria speaks German.

James Canning
James trained in London, qualifying in 1999, and originally relocated to the South West in 2002.
James specialises in CLaimant personal injury and clinical negligence actions and is a member of APIL. In 2006 and again in 2007 he secured then record damages for a Union funded member.
Away from the office James relaxes by spending time with his 3 daughters and long distance running, having completed the London Marathon in 2010 and over 10 half marathons in the last 2 years.
